From navigating insurance and availability to finding someone who truly understands your lived experience, the process can feel overwhelming. That’s why Sad Girls Club created the Remedy Program: to remove financial and systemic barriers to therapy and to help you find culturally competent care that feels safe, affirming, and empowering.

To support you on this journey, we've curated a list of trusted platforms and directories where you can begin your search for a licensed therapist. These tools are especially helpful for finding providers who share your cultural background, values, and therapeutic goals.

📌 Things to Consider When Choosing a Therapist

  • Cultural fit: Do they have experience working with your background, identity, or concerns?

  • Approach: Do you prefer someone who is direct and structured, or reflective and conversational?

  • Specialties: Look for therapists who specialize in the areas you're seeking support in—such as anxiety, trauma, or self-esteem.

  • Availability: Make sure their schedule aligns with yours and that they accept the Remedy Program vouchers.

đź’¸ Using Your Remedy Program Voucher

Once you’ve found a therapist you'd like to work with, you can explain that you're a Remedy Program grantee and that your sessions will be funded through vouchers provided by Sad Girls Club. We also offer a letter template that you can send to therapists to help explain how the program works and how easy it is to get reimbursed.

We believe everyone deserves access to quality, culturally sensitive mental health care. No matter where you are in your healing journey, Sad Girls Club is here to walk with you every step of the way.
