Letter from mum, Elyse Fox
I constantly think, why aren’t these pregnancy ‘life hacks’ not only accessible but also celebrated?
Elyse Fox
I hoped to create this hub for Sad Girls Club a long time ago. As Sad Girls Club grows I feel it’s important to create safe spaces for every group of women. As I began to build out these communities morning sickness, early evening fatigue and life got in the way. I believe it’s important for the dialogue of mental health to spread across different sectors of life. Preparing for motherhood has been my largest focus and mental health struggle for nearly a year.
I want to create a space where we can all speak candidly about the process of becoming a mom, the mental and physical strains we rarely hear of and shine a light on the tricks that gets us through! From experience, vulnerability and storytelling have been the fastest vehicles to create and sustain community.
I’ve been leaning on friends and family members throughout my journey and I’ve learned so many things about my body through their experiences. I constantly think, why aren’t these pregnancy ‘life hacks’ not only accessible but also celebrated?
This space is for mom’s, aunties, cousins, grandmas and more to express the different facets of what motherhood means to them. Let’s talk about all of the hard + beautiful lessons we’ve learned about our bodies and share tips to nourish our souls as we create life.
This community is for us, welcome to the Sad Moms Club.
